Zhai Skincare Design
Design Statement:
The purpose of this project was to create a brand from the ground up. From designing the logo, the packaging, the shopping bag and the imagery. I wanted to choose something I felt passionate about doing, but also challenged me to a new field I never worked with. That led me to skincare. I related skincare to the one person I know who loves experimenting with different skincare products, and that is my girlfriend, so she was my main inspiration behind this project. Creating three products (serum, sunscreen, and moisturizer), and a shopping bag to showcase the brand.
Shopping Bag
Design Statement:
The purpose for this project was to create a shopping bag that would be a part of the branding image for Zhai. I wanted to create a shopping bag that would fit all three products I created, making sure it holds and protects the items, but also a little spacious so it can be easy to put items inside the bag, and take items out the bag. I incorporated the brand elements like the pattern, brand color, and logo onto to bag to create a unique design.

Shopping Bag Process - Draft
Brands incororpate the logo onto the bag, but I wanted to combine both the pattern and logo to create an eye-catching bag design that also included the logo.
Small paper mockup meant to showcase how the draft would look like.
Shopping Bag Process - Revised Final Design
I wanted a design that still showcased the logo, but I wanted incorporated into the actual design, so I took the brand pattern and incorporated the alternate logomark inside that pattern. I removed the gradient so the main design element would be the pattern, and to also showcase the main brand color. I added the website address on the top right of the side panel since that is where the website address was also located on the actuak skincare packaging.
