Album Remix
Design Statement:
The Album remix is meant to remix key elements from past albums. I was tasked with combining two albums into one, remixing both albums that still referenced back to the original albums.
The two albums were “Safety in Numbers” by Crack The Sky, and “Love’s Lines, Angles and Rhymes” by the 5th Dimension. And I combined key elements of typography and imagery into my remix album.

The reason I went for “Signs of the Times” is because there was always a sense of time throughout the songs. The song “Nuclear Apathy” reflects how we have been run down and learned to accept things over time. The song “Long Nights” reflects how time feels when you lose a loved one. The song “A Night On The Town (with Snow White)” reflects on how fast time goes by when you spend it with the right person. The song “Time and Love” reflects on how with time and love people’s struggles will be healed. The song “What Does It Take (To Win Your Love)” reflects on the amount of times they tried to show how much they loved the person. I wanted the new album title to reflect the themes of the songs found in both albums.

The original ideas were “Cracked the 5th Dimension” as the band name, and “Signs of Times” as the album name. These would later change to “Crack’d Dimension” and “Times.” These changes felt more memorable compared to the original longer version.
